Nearsightedness (myopia) is when close-up objects look clear but distant objects are blurry. For instance, you can read a map clearly but have trouble seeing well enough to drive a car.
Nearsightedness is often discovered in children when they are between 8 and 12 years old. During the teenage years, when the body grows rapidly, myopia may worsen. Between the ages of 20 and 40, there is usually little change.
While myopia cannot be reversed, the goal of treatment is to keep it from getting worse. Our clinic specializes in treatments such as prescription drops, specialty contact lenses, and myopia control spectacle lenses to prevent the progression of myopia in children. Dr. Bansal was extremely professional in the service that was provided to me and my family. He particularly has incredible technology for pediatrics; the data he was able to obtain from my 15-month-old was detailed and reassuring for a worrying parent.
