Cynosure Icon – Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
- This skin care treatment uses wide-range light wavelengths that are pulsed onto the skin. This selectively targets abnormal pigment in order to produce more evenly-toned and smoother skin.
- It can also be used to reduce the size of bumps on the eyelid (styes) in a non-invasive manner without having them surgically removed.
- IPL is also used to target abnormal vessels of the skin to reduce redness and inflammation (such as in facial and ocular rosacea).
- In fact, one major cause of dry eye is inflammation! Therefore, simply getting rid of these abnormal vessels on and around the eyelids directly results in solving dry eye from its root cause!
